What Is a Hermetic Compressor and How Does It Work?
A hermetic compressor is a compressor whose motor and compression unit are sealed inside a single welded steel shell. That closed construction keeps refrigerant leakage to a minimum and lets the compressor run for years without maintenance. It is used across a very wide field, from domestic refrigerators and commercial coolers through to cold rooms and display cabinets.
How it works
The compressor is the heart of the refrigeration cycle. It draws in evaporated refrigerant at low pressure, compresses it to a high pressure and temperature, and sends it on to the condenser. That is what keeps the cycle turning and holds the system at the temperature you have asked of it.
Choosing the right model
- Refrigerant type: R134a, R404A, R290 and R600a are each designed for different applications.
- Capacity (HP and cooling capacity): must match the volume of the system and its operating temperature.
- Operating range: LBP, MBP and HBP applications each call for a different compressor.
If you are not certain which compressor fits, send us the technical detail of the system and we will work through it with you. TURA Soğutma holds deep stock of Cubigel and Zingfa compressors and provides technical support to buyers in Turkey and in export markets.
